STREAM A pacesetters ZANACO Football Club first choice goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata is injured hence his out of action lately, says head coach Numba Mumamba.
Speaking in a post-match interview after his team’s first loss of the season to Kabwe Warriors at Godfrey UCar Chitalu stadium, Numba said that his goal keeper has not been sidelined for underperformance but has been undergoing rehabilitation due to injury.
He said that the first choice goal minder who has since missed ZANACO’s last three games after having been substituted in a week three home win against Kitwe United , a game in which he almost cost his team a win, would now resume light training today.
“Toaster is on rehabilitation , he’s got an injury and will start light training today otherwise the boy (Mangani Banda ) has been doing very well just that today he made a few mistakes which is acceptable in football,” he said.
Late second half substitute , Prince Mumba’s goal was all Warriors needed to stop ZANACO’s unbeaten run in the 2019 Zambian super league transitional season.
Zanaco opened the floodgate of goals through striker Chitiya Mususu in the 9th minute before he could come back to complete his brace in the 52 minute having gone to half with a one nil lead in favor of the Bankers.
With the game looking like it would head in ZANACO’s favor, former Buildcon and ZESCO striker Akakulubelwa Mwachiyaba pulled one back to give the home side hope in the 62nd minute.
Former NAPSA Stars player Twiza Chaibela would then send the home fans into wild celebration when he leveled matters for Warriors in the 69th minute after benefiting from Paul Simpemba cross.
” I am very impressed with the performance of the boys though I’m worried we are conceding goals , we just have to continue working on our defence but overall performance today was excellent,” said Warriors coach Tenant Chilumba after the game.
The win moves Kabwe Warriors into second position separated by only 3 points with leaders ZANACO who lost its first game of the season.
