THE high number of sudden deaths that has rocked Siavonga district has caught the attention of Government in the area and a high level meeting has been organized to discuss the matter.

Siavonga district commissioner, Lovemore Kanyama has called for an emergency meeting with Government heads of department and the local clergy to discuss and find a lasting solution to bizarre situation.

According to a notice seen by the SUN and addressed to all HODs and the local Clergy, Mr. Kanyama said the meeting would discuss the high number of mysterious deaths that has continued haunting the district.

‘’The office of District Administration invites you for a meeting on Tuesday 26Th February, 2019 at 14:00 hours. The Agenda of the meeting is Stop or refuse the spirit of DEATH that we are currently experiencing in the district. The district has continued recording a death case nearly every week,” read part of the notice by Mr. Kanyama.

And speaking in an interview by the Sun in Siavonga, District Commissioner Kanyama encouraged the people of Siavonga to pray to God to liberate the district from the spirit of death.

He said of late the district has recorded a lot of death and that there is need for an interdenominational prayer meeting to cast and root out the devil from the area.

‘’Our district is recording a lot of deaths and so we need to call for an inter denomination prayer meeting to deal with this issue. Just today, I’m informed that we have lost another soul,” he said.

Mr. Kanyama said at the moment it was not yet clear who was responsible for the deaths in the area between the spirit of death and witchcraft but added that with God on its side, Siavonga will defeat the evil happenings.

Siavonga famous for housing Africa’s largest man-made lake and home to the country’s biggest hydroelectric power generation station has of late ignited debate on the existence of witchcraft with some men of God pointing fingers at ‘NYANIMINYAMI’ THE Tonga god as the causer of evil happening in area.
