Patrick Phiri rejoins Dynamos

ZAMBIAN super league legendary coach, Patrick Phiri, has returned to Lusaka Dynamos, just less than two years after he unceremoniously left the Lusaka elite team, according to a reliable source.
The former Zambia national team coach, returns to Lusaka Dynamos who he tutored in 2017 season before he and his assistants, Mohamed Fathy, left the Club at the end of the 2017 soccer season when Dynamos failed to clinch a top four finish which meant them missing their target of playing continental that season.
But Phiri could neither confirm nor deny the new development when contacted on the matter. He promised to speak at a later stage.
“Let me call you back later. I am in a meeting,” he said.
Lusaka Dynamos on Tuesday sent its head coach Danny Kabwe and his assistants Chris “‘Gaza” Tembo, Ronald Mukosha and Mansh Janza on suspension, until further notice, for failing to record a win in their first three games of the 2019 season.
Danny Kabwe joined Lusaka Dynamos in mid-2017, having earlier coached Power Dynamos, whom he joined in 2016 from Zanaco Football Club where he served as Technical Director at the Sunset Stadium side.
Lusaka Dynamos has had a poor start to the season, having only collected two draws, with the latest being away to Mufulira Wanderers in week 3, and one loss in its first three games.
Former national team coach, Patrick Phiri, has previously coached Tanzanian giants FC Simba, Zambian clubs, like Nkana FC, who he guided to its 11th title in 2001; Green Buffaloes, Forest Rangers and Nakambala Leopards, who he helped survive relegation in the 2018 soccer season.
