AS the Zambian Rugby season opens next month, defending Champions Red Arrows are bubbling with confidence and looking forward to defending their six-year unbeaten record.

The team’s coach Mwamba Chishimba expressed his confidence of better days to come ahead of the season opener next month.

Chishimba said that having been champions for 6 consecutive seasons his team knew what lay ahead as every team would be looking to beating them.

He had identified areas that needed to be worked on as his team continued to work hard to defend the league title this coming season.

“So far I think we are getting there, we have been champions for the past six seasons but it is getting tougher every year,

“It won’t be easy as we have some tough opponents but we shall up our game,” he said.

Chishimba said that his team of last season was still intact but was looking forward to adding a few recruits especially promoting more players from its ‘B’ (reserve) team.

The showgrounds-based Red Arrows Rugby Club have been champions of the Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) league for the last six consecutive years and were last year’s winners of Nchanga 10’s which is the season’s opener.
