Brother killed over mangoes

POLICE in Kasama have arrested a 42 year old man for allegedly axing his brother to death over mangoes.
Deputy Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed the incident which happened in Kasama’s Tibi village of Chief Mwamba.
Mr Hamoonga named the suspected murderer as Oliver Chomba Mulenga of Kasama District who allegedly murdered his young brother Anthony Choma ,34 years on the February 6 around 16:30 hours.
He said that Oliver is alleged to have used an axe in the incident in which the victim sustained four deep cuts on the neck and one on the right leg.
“Brief facts are that Oliver had plucked some mangoes from the suspect’s mango tree and this incensed the older brother who took an axe and pounced on the young brother,” he said.
In another development Mansa Police Station are investigating a report of murder which occurred February 6, between 06:00 hours and 10:00 hours at Kalikeka Village of Chief Kalasa Lukangaba.
Mr Hamoonga said a female identified as Abigail Nyambe was allegedly murdered by unknown people.
Nyambe’s was found dead on the road side between the residential areas leading to Muchinka Day Secondary School.
“We are appealing to residents of Kalikeka Village who may have information that may lead to the arrest of the person/persons behind this murder to report to the nearest police post/police station,” Mr. Hamoonga said.
