Man 52, shot dead by unknown people

POLICE in Isoka have picked a body of a 52 year old has been shot dead by unknown people.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Joel Njase said Shadrick Chabinga a farmer of Kazilamawe village in Chief Kafwimbi’s area was murdered by unknown people around 19.00hours.
Mr Njase said the brother of the deceased Titus Chabinga 45 of the same abode told police that his older brother was murdered by unknown people using a homemade gun (muzzle loader).
“Brief facts are that on 28/01/2019 around 19:00 hours Shadrick Chabinga left the house of his first wife Mary Nakamba and went to the house of his late second wife Jane Namukonde, to see his children.
He normally slept at the house of his late wife in order to take care of the children.
Whilst on his way to the house, he was ambushed by unknown persons and shot dead,’’ Mr Njase said.
Mr Njase said the body was discovered on the Isoka-Muyombe road by Pethias Sikanyika, 50, of Lutete Village, Chief Kafwimbi, a Community Crime Prevention Unity ( CCPU) member also a farmer who was riding to Isoka BOMA to check on his farming inputs.
“Acting on this report, the Police visited the scene of the crime and found the body lying on Isoka-Mafinga Road and physical inspection of the body revealed multiple gunshot wounds on the right side of the ribs,” Mr Njase said.
The findings are suggestive that a homemade gun (muzzle loader) was used in the act,” he said.
He said the motive is yet to be established and that no arrest was made yet.
Mr Njase said the body has since been deposited at Isoka District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem in order to ascertain the cause of death.
