Zambia featured what I consider to have been the most lethal squad in recent history.

In a world world cup qualifier, against perennial rivals, Zaire, Zambia walked onto the pitch of independence stadium with pomp and splendour of the 1988 Soeul Olympics.

And indeed the over forty thousand spectators did not wait for long….

Lucky Msiska opened the floodgates of what was going to be a four-two victory over Zaire.

Eugene Kabongo Ngoy had a brace and his 89th minute goal sent shivers into many a soccer fan at Independence stadium. The skill and power with which it was delivered was out of this world. Every one looked at the watch and was glad the game was almost already Over.
