Local mobile and club DJ Aaron Mkandawire famously known as DJ 800 has initiated a programmed dubbed ‘Park Station Live’ meant to promote and support Zambian music.

The programme engages DJ 800 to storm a local bus station in Lusaka and set up his music equipment to give a free jam session to the general public. This is specifically done when the DJ wants to sample and premier a new Zambian song. According to him, the idea is to make people have a say on the new music from our local artistes.

“Park Station is a live Facebook show that promotes Zambian music,” DJ 800 says.

“You know I like challenges so I drive to any bus station and park. I will then choose a song for that particular day, mostly the latest or one of an upcoming artiste then premier it online.”

This idea, he says, gives an opportunity for people to add their voice on the song played. It also helps the artiste to get instant feedback.

“It is my initiative and a part of my street mix. So look out for DJ 800 at a bus station near you.” He said.
