…as Zambia Under-17 resumes AFCON preps

ZAMBIA Under-17 national team coach Ian Bakala has summoned a 48 member provisional squad set to enter camp today to resume preparations for the 2023 TotalEnegies Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations to be held next month.
Bakala has summoned former Chipolopolo international Collins Mbesuma’s son Linecker who plays for Jomo Cosmos in South Africa.
Bakala has also summoned five players from Atletico Lusaka and seven players from Kafue Celtics
After kicking of preparations today, the Junior Chipolopolo will be in camp up to March 15, 2023 for the tournament set for April 29 to May 19, 2023.
Zambia were drawn against South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco in Group B of the TotalEnergies Algeria 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament will commence on April 29 with the finals set for May 19 in Algeria.
Zambia will kick off its campaign at the Youth AFCON in Algeria with a match against Algeria on April 30 before facing South Africa on May 3 in the City of Constatine.
The Junior Chipolopolo will then conclude their group fixtures with a clash against Morocco on May 6 in Algiers.
