CITIZENS’ First Party President Harry Kalaba, says the country is likely to face famine due to delayed distribution of farming inputs.

Mr Kalaba said farmers in various parts of the country have not received the farming inputs hence affecting the 2022-20223 farming season.

He noted that already a 25kg bag of mealie meal is costing about K205 even when the country has enough maize stock and this will worsen when the country records low yields.

Mr Kalaba said the new dawn administration had promised to turn around the country’s economy but what is happening is different.

He said the UPND when in opposition assured the country that things will change for the better but as it stands, Zambians are wallowing in poverty.

Mr Kalaba has advised the government to devise a plan to ensure that people do not go hungry come next year.
