Head of Zambia Agriculture Research Institute Kambamba Mwansa says in the past years, farmers were negatively affected by the spread of the army worm’s which affected production hence the research is aimed at reducing the trend.
Mr. Mwansa told Millennium radio that the maize varieties will help farmers to have a massive yield going forward as it is tolerant to the fall army worms.
Mr. Mwansa has urged the farmers to take advantage of the army resistant varieties to increase production in the next farming season once the seeds are released on the market.
