President Hakainde Hichilema has urged Quasi-government institutions and statutory bodies to ensure to spend resources on revenue generating ventures which will in-turn create jobs for the Zambian people.
Officiating at the Quasi-government and statutory bodies meeting this morning, Mr. Hichilema urged the institutions to spend money on expenditures that generate income and not just for consumption.
The President reminded the Quasi-government and statutory bodies’ heads to move away from the extravagance lifestyles at the expense of the Zambian people who gave the mandate to his administration to serve them.
The qausi –government and statutory bodies meeting was held under the theme working together towards a common purpose, and President Hichilema says government officials must have a common goal working together in view of delivering quality services to Zambians.
Meanwhile President Hichilema also noted with concern the laws that surround the tendering process as they hinder a lot of people to do business with the government due to prolonged processes.
And speaking earlier, acting secretary to the cabinet Patrick Kangwa has assured that all statutory bodies and Quasi-government institutions will ensure that the transformation agenda is attained and the livelihoods of the Zambian people is improved.
