Unemployed Doctors disappointed with Postponement of publication of names for successful candidates in health workers recruitment

The Decision to postpone the publication of names for successful candidates in the health workers recruitment exercise has disappointed the unemployed Doctors.

Yesterday the civil service commission announced that the names of the successful candidates in the health workers recruitment exercise will be public on July 29 and not  22ND July as earlier announced.

The commission indicated that the postponement of the date follows the overwhelming response from applicants which has delayed the verification of the consolidated lists of selected candidates from the provinces.

But Unemployed Doctors chairperson Wallace Ndumba says the postponement has shown unprofessionalism in the manner in which the civil service commission operates.

Mr Ndumba says the commission should have prepared for an overwhelming response from the very start.

He says seeing the high numbers of unemployed health personnel an overwhelming response in the recruitment exercise was inevitable.

Mr Ndumba says the postponement is a disappointment as health workers were looking forward to having the names published today.

He has explained that the unemployed health workers are stressed because the process has been long overdue.

Meanwhile Mr Ndumba has stated that if the names of the successful candidates are pushed any further than Friday the 29th of July   the unemployed health workers will conduct a peaceful protest to the ministry of health offices.
