Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Brian Mundubile says most opposition members of parliament desired to attend the just ended African Union 4th mid-year coordination meeting but were not invited .

Mr Mundubile says many of the opposition MPs wished to attend the high level meeting to be able to draw knowledge on how they can improve in terms of representing the Zambian people.

Mr Mundubile says it is from such meetings that MPs improve their leadership skills and be able to speak to the needs of their electorates.

He says however, unfortunate for the opposition members of parliament most of them were not invited to the meeting.

Mr Mundubile says the law makers lost out on the opportunity to learn and interact with foreign leaders

Meanwhile Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda says the number of invited guests to the AU meeting was limited.

Ms Kasanda says it was not government intention to leave out anyone especially leaders who needed to attend to be able to learn from the invited dignitaries.

She says it was not only opposition members of parliament that where left out but even those from the ruling party as well.
