New health workers to receive appointment letters in June

THE Civil Service Commission has announced that it will by the end of next week give appointment letters to the successful 11,276 health workers.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary, Augustine Kasongo in Ndola, Commission Chairperson, Peter Mumba said he is happy that the exercise is almost coming to an end.

Mr. Mumba said the Commission gave districts the authority to conduct the recruitment exercise stating that it has never interfered with the process.

He explained that the Commission is on the Copperbelt for an evaluation and monitoring exercise on the recruitment of the health workers.

“The Commission is here to monitor and evaluate the exercise of recruitment of health workers who are part of 11,276 being recruited by the Ministry of Health, we started this exercise a few days ago,” he said.

Mr. Kasongo stated that the manner the recruitment of health workers and teachers is being handled, gives Zambians the sense of ownership, especially those involved in the exercise.

And Copperbelt Province Human Resource Management Committee chairperson, Daniel Kamenga, disclosed that the province was given 1,374 positions whose treasury authority has already been granted. – ZANIS/
