An Energy expert has called on the government to build more oil reserves which will enable the country to have adequate stocks that will last for longer period of time.

Boniface Zulu said that currently there are no enough reserves making the country vulnerable.

Mr Zulu said it is prudent for the country to have the capacity to hold oil for over 4 months.

He said doing so would help stabilize the economy when the world faces challenges of oil shortages.

Mr Zulu added that there was a need for better initiatives to be able to withstand challenges that may come in the oil sector such as the current war between Russia and Ukraine.
