IG warns against electoral mayhem

Inspector General of police Kakoma Kanganja has warned that all those with plans of causing mayhem on poll day will not have it easy and they risk putting their lives at risk.
And Mr. Kanganja has warned members of the public against circulating false election results or information that can be alarming or likely to cause chaos during Thursday’s elections
Speaking during a media briefing this morning the police chief says the service is working closely with the Zambia information And Communication technology authority ZICTA so see to it that people that will be spreading alarming information or false election results are brought to book.
He also says that to beef up security, his office has secured reinforcement of officers from immigration, Zambia wildlife authority and the defence force.
Mr. Kanganja has also directed officers to arrest anyone that will be found campaigning tomorrow beyond 18:00hrs which is the deadline.
