As Schools reopen today for critical and examinations grades, most learning institutions have shown readiness to resume classes with the high adherence to the covid 19 guidelines being observed in most learning institutions.
And the pupils have expressed happiness to be back and resume classes after two months of just staying at home.
Grades 7, 9, 11 and 12 for day schools and grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 for boarding schools have reopened for lessons today after two months of schools being closed as part of government measure to contain the pandemic.
A check by millennium radio at some schools in Lusaka found that learning institutions had put up hand washing points and learners were seen wearing face masks with teachers checking for temperature at the entrance.
Among the schools checked are Olympia Secondary, Jacarada basic secondary, Kamwala high school, St Patrick’s schools as well as and Lusaka Girls Schools.
And the pupils spoken to said it is good that schools have opened as they had been delayed and need to catch up with school work.
The pupils however raised concern that some classes are not observing social distance as a result of inadequate desks.
