Covid19 deaths shot-up

After recording a single digit in covid19 fatalities yesterday, Zambia’s covid19 death rate has shot up in the last 24 hours after 17 deaths were recorded.
And the deaths recorded have been attributed to late reporting of cases to health facilities by patients.
Ministry of Health permanent secretary for technical services Kennedy Malama says most of the covid19related deaths being recorded are due to late reporting among patients when they have symptoms.
And Dr Malama says the ministry has administered 3240 dose one of the Astra Zeneca and 2117 of dose 2 adding that 7133 doses of Johnson and Johnson was also administered in the same period.
Meanwhile the country has recorded a total of 664 new covid19 cases from 8217 tests conducted in the last 24 hours translating into 8% positivity rate.
