Grades 7, 9 to 12 to reopen on 5th August

Government has announced that all classes in critical and examinations grades will resume lessons on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting services Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga has explained that grades7, 9, 11 and 12 for day schools and grades9, 10, 11 and 12 for boarding schools will open for lessons this Thursday.
Mr Malupenga says the decision to re-open the classes in examinations and critical grades is aimed at allowing pupils to catch up with the syllabus as they were badly affected during the 7 months covid-19 closure.
Addressing the media this morning, he says government has also directed the ministry of General Education to provide a detailed operating guidance to ensure a smooth process in the re-opening of the critical grades.
And Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary Jobbicks Kalumba has directed provincial Education Officers to collaborate with the ministry of health schools do not go back to a situation that demands closure.
And Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President Stephen Mwansa says government will assist boarding schools with food rations.
