Zambia’s covid19 mortality drops to 17

Zambia has continued to record a decline in the covid19 mortality rate with 17 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, becoming the lowest in the third wave of the pandemic.
Meanwhile the country recorded 780 new covid19 cases in the last 24 hours.
Speaking during the routine covid19 update, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for technical services Kennedy Malama says the low mortality rate recorded and hospitalization is as a result of the efforts and dedication by the health authorities to reduce the cases.
Meanwhile Dr Malama says in the last 24 hours, 424 people were administered with the dose one of the AstraZeneca vaccine while 4,011 people were administered with dose two and 8, 090 people with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
