The Zambia Federation for the Blind is optimistic that due diligent was done in the printing of braille ballot papers which completed yesterday.
Federation president Emmanuel Mulilo says this year’s printing of ballot papers was prejudice as the there was no representation from the visually impaired persons.
Mr. Mulilo says the federation was unable to send a representative to Dubai to monitor the printing of ballots due to cost requirements but instead depended on other civil society organizations for feedback.
Meanwhile Mr. Mulilo says there are still many visually impaired persons across the country in need of braille voting training.
He says a number of blind persons do not have a clue of how braille voting is conducted stating that if they are not educated they may be disenfranchised.
