1ST dose AstraZeneca from second consignment starts with hiccups

Meanwhile the covid19 vaccination exercise for the first dose from the second AstraZeneca consignment has commenced in Lusaka despite being characterised with some glitches.

A check by Millennium radio at some designated centres found that the exercises had not yet commenced by 8:00 hours despite people queuing up as earlier as 06:00 hours.

A check at St Patrick School revealed that some people had turned up as early as 05:00 hours to get the vaccine but by 07: 00 hours there was no sign of health workers.

And some residents talked to expressed concern over the delay by the ministry of health to commence the exercise.

The residents charged that the delays shows lack of preparedness on the part of ministry of health.

But Ministry of Health permanent secretary for technical services Kennedy Malama says the ministry is aware that the public has been anxious to receive these vaccines but has urged the public to remain calm.
