FODEP commends Lungu, Hichilema for embracing each other during KK’s funeral

The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has commended President Edgar Lungu and UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for embracing each other during the funeral of first President Kenneth Kaunda saying the gesture will help to ease political tension ahead of the elections.

FODEP executive director George Chimembe says with few a days remaining before Zambians go to the polls, it is important for the two leaders to embrace each other as it will help in ensuing that peace is maintained before and after the elections.

Mr. Chimembe says it is time that President Lungu, Mr. Hichilema and other political players focused on the legacy of Dr Kaunda which is anchored on love, peace and unity.

He has also appealed to President Lungu to continue investing in tangible mechanisms that will enhance peace and love among Zambians.
