ZAMBIA HOCKEY UNDER 21 PARTICIPATION IN DOUBT DUE TO ASSOCIATION LOW BUDGET

Written by on June 15, 2021

The Zambia Hockey under 21 national team’s participation in this year’s World cup qualifying tournament is in doubt due to the Association’s low budget.

Zambia Hockey Association (ZMA) general secretary Elvis Bwalya says the Association may miss deadline to submit final confirmation of participation for the tournament which is set for this week.

The tournament is set to be held in Namibia in August this year and will act as qualification for the World cup with confirmation for participation set for this week.

But Bwalya says that the team is yet to start preparation for the competition as it is yet to confirm on whether it will participate in the tournament due to expensive requirements for the team to take part as they are yet to meet the budget.
