Dr Sampa describes his suspension as an act of intimidation.

The Resident Doctors Association of Zambia President Dr Brian Sampa has described his suspension by the Health Professional Council of Zambia HPCZ as an act of intimidation.

The resident doctors have staged a go slow effective last evening and will only attend to emergencies, demanding that they will not go back to work until government fulfills the promises it made to the association.

And following the go slow HPCZ has suspended the practicing license of Dr Sampa for what it terms as “gross professional misconduct”

But in an interview with Millennium Radio News, Dr Sampa says HPCZ should not target individuals because the problems facing resident doctors need urgent solutions.

Dr Sampa says he has not received any official letter notifying him of the suspension of his practicing license and has never been called to answer any charges, adding that no suspension is issued at 20 hours.

And efforts to get a comment from the HPCZ proved futile by broadcast time despite several attempts to reach registrar Bwembya Bwalya.
