‘STOP LYING, ALLOW US TO MOURN OUR SISTER’

THE family of a 20-year-old girl who was found dead in Lusaka’s Chelstone area has warned people to desist from publishing falsehoods on social media.
Leah Manjimela, sister of the deceased, warned on her Facebook page that people should stop giving information that her late sister was raped prior to her demise.
“Whoever is giving people false information about my sister being raped please stop, my sister wasn’t killed or raped!!!
“I don’t want anyone to get in jail because of publishing false information! But if this continues, I swear I will find you and take you to the police myself, even its screenshot I’m taking!!
“So please if you really wanted to know the truth you should have been to the funeral house and know exactly what occurred! This is my warning to everyone.”
Manjimela, is alleged to have committed suicide by hanging herself.
Zambia Police spokesperson Esther Katongo confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.
She said that the matter was reported by Nsofwa Chulu of Chelstone, that her younger sister namely Ngakajyi Manjimela aged 20 years had committed suicide by hanging using pullers [tights].
She said that the incident occurred on 7 June 2020 between 04:00hours and 07:00hours in Chelstone.
