A WHATSAPP group administrator has been summoned by police following a complaint by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga.
And Police have warned and cautioned Makungu Saluti for adding Andrew Kamanga to a WhatsApp group without his express permission.
Saluti, who is an administrator in a social media group called Soccer Chat, was accompanied by his lawyer Anthony Mukandaof HH Ndhlovu and Company to the Zambia Police Lusaka Division Headquarters yesterday after the former was summoned by the police for questioning.
Lawyer Mukanda said the matter was resolved amicably after police warned and cautioned his client .
“We are here with our client Makungu Saluti because he was issued with a call out at the behest of Mr Kamanga (Andrew) we are meant to believe, ideally Mr Kamanga launched a complaint that he was added to a sports WhatsApp group without his consent and they issued a call out,” Mukanda said.
“But it turned out that when we appeared at the Police, they raised many concerns against the group including those against people within the group that use unpalatable language against Mr Kamanga but at the end of it has been handled professionally by the police.”
The FAZ president had reported the WhatsApp group admin matter to Lusaka Central Police and the call out was issued to Saluti on Wednesday afternoon.
It is alleged that Kamanga has faced severe criticism in the Soccer Chat group for his handling of football matters in the run up to FAZ elections.
