Vice President Inonge Wina has appealed to Members of Parliament to support the K68 Million estimated State House operational budget for the year 2020.
Opening debate on Estimates of Revenue and expenditure of the Office of the President in Parliament yesterday, Ms Wina noted that State House was faced with a number of challenges.
Our correspondent Annie Zulu reports that Mrs. Wina mentioned aging infrastructure and equipment among the key challenges at State House.
She says the budget estimate would enable State House to address some of the challenges that the institution was facing.
And Contributing to the debate, Mazabuka Member of Parliament Garry Nkombo said the budget estimate for State House could have been reduced.
Mr Nkombo also accused the institution of approving unnecessary transactions.
But Deputy Chief Whip Tutwa Ngulube, warned Mr Nkombo to stop spreading misinformation about State House.
Mr Ngulube advised Mr Nkombo to report to the law enforcement agencies if he had information that State House was involved in any illegal activities, than spreading lies.
