UNIDENTIFIED man was yesterday killed by an elephant in Livingstone near a place called Dry Manzi in Mosi Oa Tunya Park.
This is barely a month when an elephant killed a renowned and veteran tour guide, Chiinga Siavwapa near the same area.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said the body was found with several injuries and protruding intestines.
Ms Katongo said the body of the victim was discovered in the early hours of yesterday by members of the public who reported the matter to police in Livingstone.
“Police in Livingstone of Southern Province received a report of elephant attack suspected to have occurred in the early hours of September 30, 2019 at unknown time, between Dry Manzi and Mukuni turnoff,
“In the incident an unidentified male victim believed to have been carrying a bag of cabbages was killed by an elephant which is believed to have gone away with the bag of cabbage,” Ms Katongo said.
She said the body of the victim was deposited Batoka Hospital mortuary awaiting burial.
