CUSTOMERS of FNB, who use its Lusaka showgrounds ATM reported to have crashed, are up in arms against the bank for not correcting the situation which is now running into two weeks.
Many of its customers called the Sun to complain over the delays to put the ATM back into operation which they said were not a characteristic of an international bank.
Mr Brian Matambo said the delays were absolutely unnecessary especially that FNB has not offered any official explanation on the matter.
“This is totally unacceptable for a bank like FNB which now appears to be taking its customers too much for granted,
“I am sure if this happened somewhere in South Africa where its origins are, that ATM would have been operational by now,” Mr Matambo said.
He was quickly supported by Ms Helen Nakazwe who said she often used the ATM for her business transactions near the showgrounds without being forced to cross the busy and dangerous Great East Road.
She appealed to the bank to quickly resolve the problem because many of its customers who depended on its services had been greatly inconvenienced.
“A few days, would been understandable but two weeks, I think it is just too much and smells of incompetence on the part of the bank’s IT department, but still the buck stops at the entire bank,” Ms Nakazwe said.
Another unhappy customer of FNB Greenford Chalwe complained that it he was finding the idea of crossing the busy Great East Road to access the bank’s services at Manda Hill extremely dangerous and totally inconvenient.
“What is happening at our bank is definitely not in line of satisfying its customers, something has gone wrong here and the bank’s customer are owed an explanation and an apology,
“But to keep quiet and pretend that all is okay is not good business practice by the bank. I think we deserve to be treated better because to me this is not a small issue at all,” Mr Chalwe said
FNB could not be immediately reached for a comment.
