A BUS driver of Lusaka’s Mtendere Township was fined K8, 000 in the Chelstone Local Court for impregnating a girl.
Moses Tembo, 28 was appearing before presiding magistrate Mary Namangala in a matter he has been sued by Collins Muchindu, 48, of the same area for impregnating his daughter.
Muchindu said Tembo impregnated his daughter and has been calling him to discuss the matter but he was always busy.
“I want him to give me K15, 000 for impregnating my daughter because he refuses to come for a meeting every time we call him,’’ he said.
In defence Tembo said he could not manage K15, 000 because it was too much for him and suggested a figure of K8, 000 and in installments of K300 monthly.
The court then ordered Tembo to compensate Muchindu with K8, 000, with first installment of K2, 000 to be paid this month end and K350 thereafter.
