THE newly constituted National Division played its week two games with all the teams successfully fulfilling the fixtures without any report of unplayed games.

All the teams managed to travel long distances to fulfill their respective games.

Before the start of the season there had been a concern from stakeholders about distances to be covered by various teams in a league played nationalwide.

Muchinga based Mpulungu Habour had to travel a distance of about 1,000 to play Circuit City in Lusaka on Saturday.

Mpulungu’s endurance of long distance travel paid off as they condemned their hosts by one goal to nil.

And Harbour coach Moses Mwambazi described the win as a relief for his team.

Mwambazi said the game was “very tough”, as his team took time to settle largely because of the artificial the pitch.

He, however, paid glowing tribute to his team for what he termed sticking to the game plan.

And Circuit City assistant coach Charles Mwale described his team’s loss as painful.

Mwale said it was painful losing two games in a row.

“We certainly need to improve on our finishing. We could have buried the game in the first half, but we missed a lot of chances,” Mwale said.

“Football is about getting the goals. Again, as the game progressed we lost concentration and got punished. Going forward we have a team. We just need to make use of our created chances,” he said.

City will next play Sinazongwe United in Southern Province on Saturday.

Mpulungu Habour will have to spend another week in Lusaka as they have another date in the capital city on Saturday against joint table toppers Kafue Celtic at OYDC.
