FARMER IN COURT FOR UNLAWFUL WOUNDING

A 47 year old farmer has appeared in the Choma Magistrates Court for acts intended to cause grievous harm.
This is in a matter in which Charles Majala of Mapanza area in Choma is charged with acts intended to cause grievous harm.
Particulars of the offence are that on July 23 in Choma, Majala unlawfully wounded Nchimunya Mulima.
When the matter came up for explanation of the charge before Senior Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo, Majala said he understood the charge read to him.
However matter could not proceed because the offence was only triable by the High Court.
It was then adjourned to September 13 for mention as the State waited for instructions from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions.
Majala was remanded in custody.
