MWAKALOMBE DONATES CEMENT TO CHURCH

CHONGWE Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Japhen Mwakalombe has donated 150 by 50 kg bags of cement to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kapwayambale ward of Chongwe.
Mr Mwakalombe made the donation when he visited the church during his tour of the wards in his constituency.
Mr. Mwakalombe who is Copperbelt minister observed that, education was critical to any society and as such must be supported.
He commended the project committee in the church for the proactive initiative which would go a long way in helping meet education needs in the area, especially for the less privileged.
He emphasized that government was committed to improve the social life of the citizens and as such was ready to support any project that sought to respond to social and economic needs of society.
Chongwe District Patriotic Front (PF) chairman, Mr. Evans Mhambi told the Sun an interview that, the gesture was a sign of the MP’s commitment to respond to community needs.
According to him, the call to charity was for every citizen and as such, the gesture by the lawmaker should be emulated by all well-meaning Zambians.
Mr. Mhambi appealed to the church to put the donation to good use so that it benefitted the less privileged.
He observed that the community school once completed would help to increase school space in the area thereby increasing the life chances of the young population.
Mr. Mhambi thanked the MP for the donation and hoped that was the beginning of a journey to see the project completed.
