Zambia Under-23 national team coach Beston Chambeshi says his charges will be looking to post a huge margin on Wednesday in the first leg against Congo Brazzaville to lessen the burden in the return leg in Pointe Noire.
According to FAZFootball.com, Chambeshi said his team would gift home fans with a good game at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium.
“We looking to get a good result and maybe score three or four goals, it will be good for us to lessen pressure. We have the players who can do the work,” he said.
Chambeshi said foreign-based players would start trickling in today with a full house expected on Monday.
The coach also expressed delight at the Red Bull Salzburg pair of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu who had been drawn in Group E alongside European champions Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.
“We happy as a nation to have our boys playing at that level which is good as it shows that we are working. Those are key players and we hope they can maintain that level of play,” Chambeshi said.
Zambia hosts Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday at National Heroes Stadium with kickoff being at 18:00 hours.
The second leg will be in Pointe Noire on Sunday with the winner over two legs qualifying to the AfCON tournament in November to be hosted by Egypt.
Top three teams at the tournament will automatically qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
