FAZ INFIGHTING IRKS STATE

GOVERNMENT says it is concerned with the continued infighting at Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Government spokesperson, and Information Minister, Dora Siliya, said Government was worried about the infighting at football house and the perceived misunderstanding between the association and Government
Siliya appealed to the new Sports minister, Emmanuel Mulenga, to quickly resolve the infighting at FAZ and the perceived misunderstanding between the association and his ministry, in an amicable manner.
Recently, the Ministry of Sports rejected a national football coach, hired by FAZ, on grounds that the association abrogated the Employment Act by not advertising the position as required.
On the other hand, FAZ apologized to government for wrongly putting the blame on the ministry for the under 20 Women’s National Soccer teams failure to participate in the 2019 African Games in Morrocco.
