HAMUKALE ASSURES EAGLES

ZAMBIA’S envoys in the CAF Champions league Green Eagles returned home on Monday evening to a thunderous welcome from scores of Choma residents who turned up to receive the team.
Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale who was among the people that received the team, and assured it of more support from government.
Hamukale said a win against a team that finished second in the South African league was a clear indication that the Choma-based side could beat any team in Africa.
He said Eagles had now acquired a status of big team in Zambia and that it had now won over many soccer fans from other teams.
The provincial minister advised Eagles not lose some of its best players to other Zambian big wigs but instead work on retaining them.
And speaking at the same event Eagles chairperson Lieutenant Colonel Jim Kafumukache thanked the people of Choma for rallying behind the team.
Kafumukache said the ZNS command was pleased to see the team being received to a thunderous welcome by its faithfuls in the provincial capital.
And Coach Aggrey Chiyangi said his team’s success came as result of immense support from government through ZNS.
Chiyangi described the team’s win against Orlando Pirates as a demonstration that they could beat any team in Africa.
He thanked Zambians for the support they gave his side during the preliminary round of the 2019/ 2020 CAF Champions League.
He said that his charges had a lot of faith and was looking forward to facing the Angolan giants Primera De Agosto in the first round.
Eagles qualified to the next round of the 2019 / 2020 CAF Champions League after eliminating Pirates to set date against Primera De Agosto.
They play their first round fixture at home on the September 13 before travelling to Angola a fortnight later.
