NEWLY promoted Copperbelt division one football club side, Jumulo FC has intensified preparations ahead of its debut season in the second tier league.
Jumulo media officer Obi Malambo said that the club has since played 10 teams in pre-season friendly games which included premier league clubs such as Red Arrows and Forrest Rangers.
Malambo said other clubs played in friendlies are Copperbelt Buffaloes, Trident Kalumbila, FQM, Konkola Blades, Prison Leopards, Chifubu Pirates, Kitwe United and Police Blue Eagles.
He said the team recorded five draws, two losses and three wins.
Malambo said last season’s top scorer Ricky Banda has yet again proved his worth by scoring six goals, with Kunda Musonda and newly acquired Lazarus Ng’andwe getting two goals each.
He said solitary goals came from Mubiana Muleta, Francis Chinjila, Peter Mwangeni and Bruce Chola.
Malambo said skillful and good enterprising players had been added to the squad
And team coach Yorum Kunda said the essence of the friendlies was for team building purposes as well as cohesion, formations and bonding of players.
Jumulo played its maiden season in division two last season and successfully won promotion to Copperbelt division one with a record of one loss and 27 points from its 14 matches.
