SOUTH Africa’s Blue Bulls rugby giants will be among the first passengers on Proflight’s new Johannesburg-Ndola routes set to kick-off next month.

The sporting legends will be on board as they come to Zambia to take part in this year’s Zambia Sevens International Rugby Tournament from September 6-7, just a few days after Proflight starts its new route on September 2.

The Blue Bulls team, which is based in Pretoria will be connecting through from Ndola to Lusaka for the event.

Blue Bulls head coach, Ludwiche van Deventer, said, “We’re really excited to be taking part in the Zambia International tournament this year, and equally excited to be travelling with Proflight direct from Johannesburg to Ndola. It’s going to be an awesome experience all-round.”

And Proflight Zambia Sales and Marketing Manager, Barbara Namwila, said the company was excited to welcome the South African ruggers aboard their new service and to host them again this year at the Zambia Sevens international tournament.

“The Blue Bulls will fly from Johannesburg to Ndola and connect to Lusaka where the 7s tournament will be held.”

This is the second year that Proflight has supported the Rugby 7s. Last year the airline sponsored the Sharks team from South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal with direct flights between Lusaka and Durban.

The Zambia Sevens International Rugby Tournament, is an incredible rugby championship which began in 2017, arranged and organised by R&G events with Zambia rugby union.

The rugby tournament will be held in Lusaka at the R&G Arena rugby pitch on September 6 and 7.
