BASKETBALL RETURNS TO THE COURTS

THE Midlands Basket Association (MBA) returns this weekend with mouthwatering fixtures set for the National Sports Development Centre (NASDEC) to be played on Saturday and Sunday simultaneously.

Saturday will see Green Buffaloes and Huskies opening the floor in a 14:00 hour’s fixture while Bulldogs and Nishati Denvers play would involve a crunch encounter between NAPSA Hurricanes and Matero Warriors in an 18:00 hour’s kickoff.

Sunday fixtures will have Green Eagles and LCC Looters pitted against each other at 14:00 hours while the second game will involve Hawks and UNZA Pacers in a16:00 hours fixture with Munali suns and Matero Magic taking to the court in last fixture of the weekend.

In last weekend’s fixtures , Matero Magic and UNZA Pacers won their games last weekend against Green Buffaloes and LCC Looters respectively.

While Matero Warriors did not have a good time losing against Hawks on Saturday evening.

The win for Magic put them top of the standing but level on points with UNZA Pacers and Warriors, all the three teams have 11 points but Magic have superior goal difference of 122 compared to 15 and 8 for Pacers and Warriors respectively.

Munali Suns beat Green Eagles by 79-62 on Sunday while Nishati Denvers overcame NAPSA Hurricanes by 95-86.

Hawks ended Warriors unbeaten run last week with an 84-69 win and will this weekend be facing UNZA Pacers who beat LCC Looters by 72-66.

Munali Suns (4), NAPSA Hurricanes (5), Nishati Denvers (6) and Hawks (7) are all on 10 points.

Eighth placed Green Buffaloes (8 points) are ahead of Bulldogs (9), Green Eagles (10) and LCC Looters (11) with one point while all have 7 points.

Bottom placed Huskies will be looking for their first win of the season having failed to record a victory in the first six games.
