FORMER Under-20 star Conlyde Luchanga has been summoned to join the Under-23 team set to go into camp soon ahead of a crucial encounter next month against Congo Brazzaville in the Egypt 2019 AfCON championship.
Under-23 national soccer team coach Beston Chambeshi included the new Forest Rangers striker to the 25 players he has summoned for preparations for the September 4 Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations first leg tie against Congo Brazzaville.
Luchanga has not been part of the national sides this year having been a part of the under 20 side that stared at the junior AFCON and World cup respectively.
Chambeshi has summoned a core number of his 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup winning stars and some new comers in his squad.
The team will enter residential
camp today in Lusaka.
Zambia hosts Congo Brazzaville on September 4 at National Heroes before playing the return leg four days later in Pointe Noire.
Winner over two legs will qualify to the AFCON to be staged in Egypt in November.
Top three teams at the AFCON will qualify to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Foreign based players will be named in the final stages of preparations.
