Green Eagle’s opponents in the CAF champions League preliminary second leg match, Orlando Pirates say they have plotted their opponent’s fall when the two sides meet in the final leg at Orlando Stadium in South Africa.
The Buccaneers 0-1 away to Eagles, but according to South Africa’s newspaper, the Citizen, Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic has promised to prepare his team well in order to advance to the next round of the competition.
Sredojevic was looking at upsetting Eagles win when the two sides meet in the second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round in two weeks’ time.
“It’s back to the drawing board for us, congratulations to our opponents for winning. They really fought hard, football didn’t reward us (Pirates), and it was harsh to us,
“We believe that we deserved more from this game than losing. We shall analyze the game, prepare ourselves well for in two weeks’ time our brothers Green Eagles will be at Orlando Stadium but it is our intention that we score more than two goals to progress to the second round,” said Sredojevic.
The Bucs coach said this in a post-match briefing at Nkoloma stadium last Saturday.
Sredojevic attributed his team’s loss to lack of concentration by his players which led to Eagles forward Spencer Sautu getting a goal.
“We dominated in almost all aspects of the match except one crucial aspect which was putting the ball in the back of the net,”
“We applied ourselves very well. Unfortunately, a lapse of concentration at the beginning of the second half (led to the Eagles goal),” Sredojevic said
He said Pirates were clear on one side but lost the ball in an important position which was in defensive midfield.
“The deflection put the opposition player in a position to put the ball in the back of the net,” he said
