North West Expo gathers momentum

BUSINESS came to stand still in Chavuma during the underway North-Western Expo road show at the weekend.

District commissioner Benjamin Mufunga confirmed the development and said the Expo road show was a marvel to watch as Makishi dancers thrilled the community with their dancing skills.

 In an interview with the Sun Mr Mufunga said it was important that the district organized a road show because it would create awareness and excitement for the residents.

Mr Mufunga said he looked forward to the Expo which would show case the potential in the province and open it to both local and foreign investment will boost developed.

He said the province was home to some of the largest mines in Zambia such as Kansanshi, Lumwana and the Trident Project under Kalumbila mine.

“We have small mines dotted around the province which have common minerals like copper, cobalt and gold among others. The district can also contribute to the tourism sector with its Chavuma Falls,

“Our province is the largest producer of pineapples, quality organic honey from the natural forests and as well could boast of being maize producers and the famous Solwezi beans”, he said The first ever Expo in the province slated from the 18 to 24 August will be held in Zambezi under the theme “Unveiling the Hidden Treasures
