THE Zambia women national soccer teams taking part at the ongoing COSAFA championship in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, have continued to record wins.
The Under-20 side has so far played one game and bashed eSwatini 4-0 on Friday and will today take on Tanzania in their second group game.
The senior national team has so far recorded victories in all their two games played so far.
The Copper Queens whitewashed Mauritius 15-0 in their opening game of the tournament before beating Namibia 3-2 in their second game yesterday
And Zambia Under-20 women national team coach Charles Haalubono expressed joy after his side went past eSwatini with a 4-nil score line in their opening game.
Maylan Mulenga scored a brace, Mary Mambwe scored a goal and an own goal from eSwatini captain Ncedo Gamedze to complete the scoring sheet.
“We had good coordination and my charges played according to instructions, second half became more like an individual play and we stopped coordinating,” Halubono said after the game.
Halubono further said that the win had given the girls confidence going forward in the tournament,
“It gives us confidence and also this game has been an eye opener to me because. I have been with this team for only a month now, so it has given me a clear picture of how they can play and the area we are supposed to improve on,” he said
The young Shepolopolo will be back on the field this morning with a tie against Botswana at 11.00 hours.
