MANY projects in Kapoche constituency of Sinda district have stalled because of the delays in releasing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF)

Luandazi ward councilor Moses Banda said people in his ward were complaining that the area had been sidelined in terms of development.

Speaking during a review and planning meeting that was held last week, Mr Banda said it was not deliberate that projects had stalled which he blamed on non-availability of CDF in the constituency.

“It is unfortunate that people of Luandazi are facing many hardships just because of the delayed CDF which could have gone a long way to supplement the efforts by the communities that have already mobilized upfront locally to make available building materials for several community projects,” he said.

Mr Banda said the CDF was meant to help solve the water crisis in villages such as Kainama, Kachamba, Kalilira and Nyamkumbira.

He said lack of water in those areas was posing a serious health hazard in the four villages because water was life.

Mr Banda urged the people to have a positive attitude towards development projects as government was doing everything possible to ensure that CDF was given to them.
