A SECURITY guard believed to be working for Trade Kings has been found dead in Lusaka’s Chaisa Township in a suspected suicide case.
Lukes Muyembe aged between 40 and 45 years old was found dead in a makeshift structure at Chaisa bus stop.
Also found at the scene was a box containing cooked rice suspected to have contained some poisonous substances which Mr Muyembe could have consumed to end his life.
According to his workmate Paul Tembo, Mr Muyembe a resident of nearby Waleta compound used to have marital disputes with his wife.
Mr Tembo said Mr Muyembe was last seen on Wednesday morning, when he asked for a K200 from his workmates for transport as he wanted to go and visit his sick father.
He explained that the following day Mr Muyembe did not show up for work as he was supposed to report in the morning, forcing his workmates to start searching for him.
Mr Tembo said on Friday morning on his way to work, he discovered Mr Muyembe’s body in a makeshift shelter at Chaisa bus station and lying next was a box which contained cooked rice.
“Siniziba vinachitika koma ba Muyembe benzo dandaula pali bakazi bao ati sibakhala bwino kunyumba so pa Wednesday bana pempa K200 kuchinto ati bafuna kuona batate bao bodwala, manje mailo sitina baone kuchito ndiye pamene tinayambila kubasakila.
“Kunyumba kwabo sitinabapeze, manje lelo nezoyenda kunchito ndiye mwamene napezela bantu batamba muntu wakufa. Pamene nafika pafupi napeza ati nibamene bamudala.
“ I don’t know what transpired but what I know is that the Mr Muyembe used to complain about his wife so on Wednesday he asked for a K200 so that he could visit his sick father.
(However on Thursday he did not show up for work so we started looking for him but we did not find him. But on my way to work I yesterday I found people watching a dead body. When I reached the spot I discovered it was Mr Muyembe who was lying dead,” Mr Tembo said.
And the owner of the makeshift Amoni Banda said he woke up to a rude shock when he discovered the body when he went to open his makeshift.
