Siavonga School in water SOS

LUSITU Primary school in Siavonga has completely run out of water and the local authority has been approached for assistance.

The area ward councilor Mr. Fund Chipembere has bemoaned the lack of source of water at the school which had pupils in a serious hopeless situation.

Mr. Chipembere said he was dismayed the school that had pupil over 700 pupils did not have any water at all.

He said the situation was a major challenge because pupils were forced to carry their own drinking water and walked long distances to fetch the commodity.

Speaking to the Sun in a telephone interview yesterday Mr Chipembere said the management at the school was now negotiating with nearby Lusitu secondary school to see if th affect school could tap water their(secondary school) water system that had a pump.

He explained that the secondary school management agreed and gave the condition that the primary school management should raise money and buy a water tank so that water could be connect to the latter.

Mr. Chipembere stressed that the resources of the primary school was also a major concern and said he would now engage the council chairman Mr. Robison Sianduba and the Chirundu Member of Parliament Mr. Douglas Syakalima to help in the situation.
