Zambia ready for Botswana in 2020 CHAN tourney

THE Chipolopolo Boys yesterday left for Francistown, Botswana where they are set to take on that country’s Zebras in tomorrow’s first leg CHAN qualifier.
The team left aboard South African Airways (SAA) at 13: 05 hours with all called up players including the two Green Eagles stars that were away in Kigali.
Stand-in coach Aggrey Chiyangi urged his charges for the qualifiers to prove that they deserved to be part of the team.
Chiyangi said it was not enough to just make the squad but prove their worth by delivering during the matches. “We are very confident with the players that we have brought in. The only thing that they have to do when they are called for national team duty is to prove that they deserve to be there,”
“When you are given chance in the national team, you have to work very hard and make sure that you deliver for the country,” Chiyangi said.
Chiyangi said the team was in good shape as the coaches that were drilling the squad in his absence had done a good job.
Zambia plays Botswana tomorrow in Francistown in the first leg of the Cameroon 2020 CHAN qualifiers before hosting the Zebras on August 3 at National Heroes Stadium in a return match.
Winner over two legs will play either eSwatini or Angola in the final qualifying round.
