Polygamous man loses marriage, fined K12, 000

A POLYGAMOUS man has been divorced in the Boma Local Court and ordered to compensate his wife K12, 000.
Annie Mwangala,27 of Kamwala sued her husband Farai Mabuku,32, of the same compound for divorce due to problems in their marriage.
The two were appearing before magistrate Concilia Kamono sitting with Juliet Mwila.
They got married in 2010 and have two children.
Mwangala told the court that their problems started in 2015 when Mabuku acquired a lover.
“We used to live well until he sent me to give birth in the village in 2015, and behind me, he brought another woman. I used to receive many calls from neighbours about this other woman. When I came back he only showed me love for two weeks then he started sleeping out,
“The other day his new wife came over to fight with me at my home because she wanted land papers, she even broke things in my house,” Mwangala said
She said Mabuku has stopped talking to her and he has opted to spend his nights elsewhere.
